I relocated my family to Colorado in the summer of 2008. I have been fighting for health and safety since 2012. I have worked with multiple advocacy groups over the years. Contributed time, energy, photography, web work, and Studio space to groups that have created several ballot measures. I have repeatedly been outspoken in the community and to council members. I have worked with scientists that study health and safety in Colorado, and was part of a grant that worked with Dr. Lisa McKenzie.
I have been an open advocate of the LGBT community since 1983. Promoting education and advocacy in college, on the Diversity Team at McGraw-Hill, and working with the Human Rights Council in Colorado. With the Colorado HRC, I spent several years working on the gala planning committee, volunteering my photography for the event, creating the printed gala program, and creating two of the Hunter Award videos. This last year I was able to march with my children in their first Denver Pride Parade with Mayor Hancock.
Media & Photography
In college I studied telecommunications and business administration, with a minor in the fine arts. I started as a photojournalist, where I learned the art of storytelling through photography. My photography has appeared in various newspapers and magazines over the decades. From event photography, weddings, movie stills, and headshots. I am the owner and founder of ClearyMedia, which produces photography, video, websites, music, and books.
Damon Brooks Associates
Damon Brooks Associates is a speakers bureau that exclusively represents those with a disability. Their goal is to provide speakers, performers, and trainers to assist in the process of breaking down barriers against those with a disability. I partnered with Damon Brooks, lead by the founder and owner Marc Goldman, to create the book “Embracing Inclusion: People With Disabilities Enriching the Workforce”. The book is a collection of photographs and profiles of people with a disability as they see themselves in the workplace. Since that collaboration, I have become the COO of Damon Brooks. Some of our clients include Jeri Jewell (from “Facts of Life” and “Deadwood”), Gabriel Cordell (from the documentary “Roll With Me”), Rachel Simon (author of the book “Riding the Bus with my Sister”), and others.
